Forgotten...

It has been a HORRIFIC long time since my last post. It's been a busy summer... but I've got a pretty awesome surprise to show for it! I've been sitting on this guy for a few weeks, and I've finally placed it on the web, for the enjoyment of all!

I actually have a vague backstory to this gangster. He was a man, of sorts, who was purposed to stand as a guardian in the desert for all time. His body was changed, modified, with all kinds of steampunk style technology and magic. He doesn't bleed anymore, and mortal wounds can't kill him.

And he stood, faithfully, guarding a now buried monument in the vast desert. After what could be an eternity of faithfully serving... the passage of time has dulled his memory to the point where he no longer remembers what he guards. The monument has been swept away by sands, and he finds himself with nothing, no memory, no charge to guard, no identity. So after forever, with no past or future, he decides to leave his place int he desert, and look for...something...

Whatever happened to the Brooklyn Dodgers? - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

Friday, June 17, 2011

I know it has be FOREVER since I last updated the art, but I promise I will get better. Here is my (near) finished design for threadless. I got the idea from listening to the song "Brooklyn Dodgers" by I Am the Avalanche. The tree is the Tree of Heaven from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and the ball and bat obviously reference the one time Brooklyn Dodgers.

MIRACLE!

Overnight project. I even got to get some sleep! 8 hours of work from start to finish. I'd say that the result is pretty good, all things considered.

Submission

So I've just submitted several pieces to the American Illustration Annual. They publish a pretty wide array of stuff, so I feel ok with my submissions. Here they be.

(I know some of them are reposts, but I figured you can never get too much of a good thing.)
